It feels almost wrong that I see pundits refer to life before the COVID-19 pandemic as the “Before Times,” as if life completely and utterly changed because of the virus and the lockdowns, riots, and stolen election that came afterwards. As if those times were simpler and more consistent with the proper way we think the world should have been before the rowdiness that followed.
Well, the Before Times was not too different than the times we live in now. The media is still full of liars, the government is mostly still corrupt, and academia is still full of geniuses who hate you and your family. The difference between then and now, is only a matter of perspective I guess.
Now, with the veiled threat of lockdowns at the lips of the President and Democrat governors throughout the country almost slipping out each time they want to put someone in their place, as well as the current disruption in supply chains throughout the nation and other economically dislocating activities, we’re dealing with shortages in many things, one of those things being one of the most important things by anyone’s standards- meat.
Now the post-modern punditry has returned to lecture Americans on our meat consumption. It was back in 2019 (or in the Before Times if you’re a CNN viewer) that the Democratic candidates for president already began to villainize Americans for our love of meat. I pointed out that Andrew Yang and Elizabeth Warren linked meat eating to global warming, with Yang saying that cutting back on meat consumption is “good for the environment, it’s good for your health if you eat less meat. Certainly meat is an expensive thing to product.”
Fast forward to now, the push for the war on meat and agriculture as a whole transcended the Green New Deal and has evolved into the Great Reset, where politicians, celebrities, and journalists are advocating for a sustainable, meatless future where everything is simply a lie sold as “just as good” as the real thing.
Meat as a treat talking points show a growing divide between the ruling class and Middle America. Writers such as those at the Atlantic are gaslighting Americans by saying that real meat could be phased out of grocery stores and restaurant menus, leaving them with no other options.
Already in 2020, we’ve seen that among adult men, the propaganda has worked. Health, environmental and other factors have convinced men that less meat is better overall, showing the media campaign has worked to convince some men to cut back.
Now, just looking at the recent Cop26 conference, they aren’t just saying their plans among each other, they're saying it all out loud. From eating bugs to blaming livestock for climate change, this is becoming another situation where there will be rules for the rich, and rules for the rest.
Do you think George Soros has or will stop eating steak? No one will keep an eye on him, but in this new era of big brother, it will only be a matter of time before your food is on the chopping block.
Literally and figuratively, of course.
I paid $10 for 12 oz of Oscar Meyer bacon at an H-E-B south of Austin. You’re absolutely right! They’re creating an environment where we will be allowed to consume a limited amount of meat due to cost alone. Sickening!
