Matt Kibbe, President of Free the People, nailed it.
The “slippery slope” skeptics of big government of yesterday now seem like prophets here in 2020. Whether you’re ok with the COVID-19 vaccines or not, the challenges we’re seeing outside our windows have virtually nothing to do with stopping the spread, and everything to do with exploiting the fears of a nation in order to seize as much authority as possible.
Within eight months of his presidency, Joe Biden has managed to make former president Barack Obama outright conservative. We’re far past warning about the “slippery slope”, now we’re getting sucked into a black hole at about a million miles per hour.
Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) went to Twitter yesterday with a reminder of how the republic is actually supposed to operate. Paul responded to Biden’s new vaccine mandate announcement writing “Vaccine mandates that ignore natural immunity ignore the science, are unscientific, and should not be adhered to or promulgated by the government.”
If you opposed the excessive executive orders under Trump, this should concern you. If you opposed the same type of executive order abuse under Obama, this should absolutely concern you. What civil libertarians and constitutionalists are opposing right now is not simply the mandates of the current controlling political party, this is opposition to federal abuse which creates another loaded gun aimed at the American people, despite whoever sits in the White House.
While media critics and partisans were quick to attack Paul (like that is anything new at all) as well as dogpile on other Senate and House Republicans, what went widely ignored were the number of experts and professionals who stood in defense of the scientific proof as to the strength of natural immunity against COVID-19, and against the coercion of Biden’s vaccine mandates.
According to Summit News:
A college professor at the University of California, Irvine, has gone one further by bringing a lawsuit against the school system’s Board of Regents and president for forcing a vaccine mandate even for those who have immunity.
SBG reports that Aaron Kheriaty, professor of psychiatry and human behavior, brought the suit after he was informed his own natural immunity is of no significance where the vaccine mandate is concerned.
Kheriaty, also a director of UCI’s Medical Ethics Program and a member of the UC Office of the President Critical Care Bioethics Working Group, said “I feel like I’m being treated unequally.”
Around the world, studies (such as a recent one out of Spain) are starting to show that COVID-19 antibodies are staying longer inside of victims than initially thought, and that when compared to the booster shots, natural and herd immunity wins every time.
In a statement released by FreedomWorks President Adam Brandon, Brandon stated “Biden today has made clear to American workers and business owners that he is their worst enemy. His unconstitutional vaccine mandate will do more to kill businesses and put Americans out of work than any Democratic priority since Obamacare.”
If you think this is still about a virus, I don’t know what to tell you. The question is as always, what is the price of safety when you lose all free will in the process?
We live in a time of choosing. The sides are being made clear to all who have eyes to see and ears to hear. This reminds me of the dialogue in the Brothers Karamazov between the old inquisitor and Christ. Unfortunately, many people prefer the inquisitors' safety (=slavery?) over freedom, but this should just harden the resolve of those of us who see things for what they are, and who know the day and the hour.
