Funnily enough that type of "everything is transactional" view was exactly that the thinking of the early Labor Zionists.

They genuinely thought that the Palestinians would acquiesce to their demographic replacement and political subjugation to recent immigrant Jews because of the wealth they'd bring to Palestine.

"Though they have with each other no national cohesion, the Fellah Clans cleave to the land with the tenacity of aboriginal inhabitants. They cling to the hills and plains where they fathers lived and died" - E. A. Finn in Palestine Peasantry from her experiences there in the 19th century.

The international Jew who is at home in London, New York and any number of other leftwing cosmopolitan city is not capable of understanding that sentiment. So they think that if they just make life terrible enough for these people, coupled with a few bribes, they'll leave on their own without a fight or become pliant followers under Jewish leadership.

The hard right wackos, even back then with the likes of Jabotinsky, understood that sentiment much more. They understood that only way a Palestinian majority will become a minority to Jews is if they're killed or "transferred".
