Musk Goes Galt
The US Needs new elites.
There was a time when the wealthiest in the United States didn’t go out of their way to absolutely destroy the workforce and American consumer. They didn’t intentionally try to create a system which made the lives of their customers worse instead of better.
Since the progressive era, the wealthy have gone out of their way to intentionally short the working man through mass migration of cheap labor and the exploitation of foreign workers through sweatshops and slave workforces.
Now, in the past fifty or so years, the elite have fallen in true love with their champaign socialism, espousing literal degeneracy and communism while at the same time living in a parallel world where the consequences don’t even affect them. The Elites of our time are notorious for being globalist and anti-American, but because their wealth and influence insulates them from true repercussions, they can flaunt it all they want and nothing will change. They outright laugh at you.
They don’t care how you live, they don’t care how you die.
You’ll own nothing and love it, you’ll live in a pod, you’ll eat the bugs.
I’m not saying the industrialists of yesterday were saints, but contemporary elites’ behavior lies in stark contrast to the so-called Robber Barons of the Gilded Age era who at least gave back to their nation.
Elon Musk is a man with a foot in both worlds, of someone who can either be a force of great good or immeasurable evil.
Through his current stock ownership war with the board and hivemind workforce of Twitter, this is a moment that will not only define his legacy but impact the world of online free speech permanently. Elon Musk can either become John Galt or not, the choice is his.
Despite deciding not to join the board of Twitter after buying a 9.2% share in the company, he likely has other plans up his sleeve.
Wedbush Securities analyst Dan Ives commented on the about-face decision by Musk as soon as it broke, saying that Musk is now taking a “more hostile stance towards Twitter and further builds his active stake in the company.” Musk can hypothetically join with a private equity firm in order to buy more Twitter stock and actually force “major strategic changes” or even an absolute firehouse sale of stock.
The American Right should not be quick to praise wealthy people for wealth’s sake. Some use their wealth for ill intent, such as George Soros funding jailbreak policies or Michael Bloomberg funding pro-gun control groups.
The right should only praise and ally with elites that uphold their values. Assuming Musk can go through and slay the Twitter dragon, only then can we know his true intent is to stand by his futurist-liberarian beliefs.
Until we know for certain, all we can do is hope for the better.
